Once you've smelled the aroma of the best quality meadow hay, you will never settle for less. Our meadow hay comes from high in the Tatra and Sudeten mountains of Southern Poland, away from towns and cities, where it is watered by mountain streams and grows at high altitude in fresh mountain air.
Our meadow hay is grown without fertilisers, pesticides or other contaminants and sun dried with good air circulation to ensure the freshness of the hay.

What makes a healthy hay?
Timothy hay is a popular mono-culture hay which many vets recommend for it's abrasive properties which aid dental health.
The range of grasses and wild plants in mountain hay, which includes Timothy hay, provide a range of nutrients similar to those of Alpine meadow hay and , like Alpine hay, it is cut when it has a good balance of leaf and stalk giving it a high fibre content making it good for both teeth and digestion.

Guinea pigs in the wild create tunnels through the long grass where they can safely graze on the shorter grass underneath.

Chinchillas also live at high altitude living on sparse, high fibre forage.
The climate in their natural habitat is far drier than the Tatras but, as it is a dried material, mountain meadow hay provides a rich variety of high fibre plant material.
